AI Strategy and Roadmap

Develop a future-proof AI roadmap with Fortis AI.

At Fortis AI, we explore the world of AI together with your team: we identify opportunities, select the projects that will make an impact, and develop a dynamic roadmap that propels your organization into the future. The result is an action plan to make your organization AI-ready.

What is an AI strategy?

AI strategy is the set of organizational, data, and governance choices through which an organization determines where, why and under what conditions artificial intelligence is deployed.

AI strategy is not an IT strategy. The primary goal is to improve decision-making, not to introduce technology.

AI strategy is therefore fundamentally a governance issue and only secondarily a technological issue.

Why AI initiatives often fail

In practice, many AI projects fail not because of technical limitations, but because of structural design flaws. The most common causes are:

1. Reversing the problem

AI is selected before the underlying decision problem has been clearly

defined.

2. Overestimating data

Available data is confused with usable, reliable, and permitted data.

3. Lack of ownership

There is no explicit ultimate responsi

bility for AI-driven decisions.

As a result, the greatest risk in AI adoption is rarely model quality, but almost always insufficient governance.

Reconsider your AI strategy

Approach

  1. Inspiration session

During an interactive workshop, we inspire your management team and stakeholders with concrete AI applications within and beyond your industry. Using practical examples and trends:

  • We identify which AI innovations are relevant to your organization.
  • We lead a creative brainstorming session to gather opportunities and ideas.
  • Developing a high-level view of what AI can mean for the company.

Result: A shared understanding of AI capabilities and a list of initial opportunities.

  1. Analysis of business processes

We explore your core activities and landscape in depth to understand where real impact can be achieved. In this phase:

  • Mapping out processes and the IT landscape.
  • Integration aspects.
  • Identifying bottlenecks and opportunities for optimization.
  • Determining what data is needed and what is already (partially) available.

Result: An analysis of the current state and bottlenecks.

  1. Selection of relevant use cases

Not every AI application is equally valuable. That is why we help you select the most profitable and feasible projects, based on:

  • Business impact (cost savings, growth, customer satisfaction)
  • Technical feasibility and low-hanging fruit.
  • Cost-benefit considerations.

Result: A shortlist of 3–5 AI use cases suitable for a Proof of Concept

  1. Developing the AI roadmap

We provide you with a roadmap to help your organization take the next steps toward becoming AI-ready

  1. Roadmap in which the various use cases are plotted over time.
  2. Pilot phase: Guidance during the first use case, together with new or existing partners
  3. Scaling: Scaling up to multiple departments and systems
  4. Governance: Establishing IT governance and policy
    Result:
A more concrete roadmap, including deliverables, milestones, and responsibilities.
